It is our HOPE to further a young person’s dream of higher education and success.

An academic scholarship will be awarded annually to a Neville High School student with high merits and a desire to attend LSU. They are required to submit an essay explaining their academic pursuits and how LSU will help them to achieve their goal. The Altick Family, with the help of the Foundation directors and Neville academic instructors, will decide who should receive this scholarship.

Matthew Squyres
Matthew Squyres graduated in 2010 from Neville High School with a 3.96 GPA and was in the top 5% of his graduating class. He played Football, Soccer and Baseball all four years. He received honors for All-District in all three sports as well as being honored with All-Northeast in both Football and Soccer and All-State in Football as a Place Kicker. He received the 2010 Paul Martin Award by the News Star for an athlete that competed in numerous sports while maintaining an achieving academic excellence. Matthew was the Key Club Vice President his senior year and volunteered in numerous community service activities throughout his high school years. Matthew was a member of the National Honor Society and four year member of the Renaissance Club. Matthew is now majoring in Chemical Engineering at Louisiana State University and has pledge Kappa Sigma Fraternity. This scholarship has special meaning to Matthew as he was one of Trey’s close friends for many years at Grace Episcopal Middle School and Neville High School.

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
